20-year San Francisco GM Tony Salvadore is blasted out of CMP's KNBR (680)
It’s an apparent budget-dictated move by Cumulus Media Partners, says the San Francisco Chronicle. That posting was quickly picked up by the San Francisco Board of Radio-Info, which has the same speculation. Tony had been at sports KNBR for more than two decades. The interim GM is Lee Hammer, who’d been the PD. But the paper speculates that Cumulus Media Partners may soon combine all its San Francisco stations under a single GM. That might be Peter Schwartz, who’s got adult alternative KFOG (104.5) and South Bay KFFG (97.7), plus classic rock “Bone” KSAN (107.7). The San Francisco Discussion Board is here.
