75-year old North Carolina talk host pleads guilty to DWI
Bill Huff , the morning co-host of Burlington, North Carolina’s WBAG-AM (1150) was stopped by police following a hit & run accident. A check of his blood alcohol level showed it was above the state’s legal limit. The Burlington Times-News reports Huff agreed to a plea deal, where the state dropped the hit & run charge, but Huff will pay restitution to the owner of the other vehicle involved in the accident, take a class on impaired driving once a week for 24 weeks, and volunteer at The Salvation Army. His driving privileges will be limited to “work-related or educational purposes during standard working hours.” Huff will also be on probation for 12 months. Huff has been involved in North Carolina radio for nearly 50 years, the last 22 hosting the morning show on WBAG, where he is also sports director.
