A BASE jumper is injured, parachuting off the tower of WETA, Washington, DC
A total of five people charged with trespassing, in the Wednesday evening incident. DCRTV.com picks up the report from the ArlingtonNow local site: a woman who jumped off the WETA tower didn’t make it all the way to the ground. Her chute got tangled in a tree near Big Walnut Park, and she was hurt after unhitching herself and trying to descend from the tree. BASE jumpers get their kicks by jumping off of stationary objects, often at night, and without permission. “BASE” stands for “buildings, antennas, spans [bridges] and earth.”
