A Connecticut talk host is alleged to be part of a sports betting ring
It was last month that "Taylor On Radio-Info" reported that authorities in Connecticut busted an illegal sports betting ring that included news/talk WTIC-AM, Hartford (1080) talk host Joseph "Sebastian" Schlosser. The Hartford Courant has released more details into the inside activities of the sports betting operation, including the fact that Sebastian told detectives he paid over $350,000 in losses in the past two years. The 62-year old Sebastian was one of a dozen people arrested as a part of the joint IRS & FBI investigation. Sebastian previously had a long history at rock station WCCC-FM (105.9) and recently has been hosting an evening sports show on WTIC with former NFL player Tebucky Jones. Schlosser has been charged with professional gambling and transmitting gambling information. His next court appearance is scheduled for January 4. The Connecticut Board of Radio-Info.com is talking about that loss of $350,000 in gambling debts and other angles of the story here.
