A Mexican talk host is slammed for his "run over bicyclist" rant
Mexico City's Reporte 98.5 talk show host Angel Verdugo is under fire by the a top environmental official after calling on motorists to run over people on bicycles. Verdugo was unhappy when cyclists nearly ran into his car one day. Verdugo said on the air, "run your vehicles at them immediately, don't give them time to think, and crush them." His comments were not taken well by Mexico City's top environmental official, as the government encourages bicycle use as an alternative to driving in Mexico's largest city, with a population of 20 million. A government official calls Verdugo's statement "an attack on the cycling community and the citizens of Mexico City. The Belfast Telegraph has more about Verdugo's comments here.
