A Montana woman pleads guilty to stealing money from a Christian radio station

prison bars

Jessica McGee spent five years as the bookkeeper for Kalispell Christian Radio Fellowship’s KALS-FM (97.1) from 2004 to 2009, and it is alleged during that time she stole in excess of $67,000. McGee originally pleaded not guilty to the charges, but on Thursday she reached a deal with prosecutors to plead guilty to a reduced charge of theft, says the Daily Inter Lake newspaper. McGee was accused of falsifying the station’s books and using the money to pay off her own personal expenses, including satellite TV service and credit cards. She also got the station in trouble with the IRS, for failing to pay $82,000 in taxes. McGee is facing a maximum 10-year prison term when she is sentenced on November 10. As a part of her plea deal, she has promised to repay the $67,000.
