A radio host and online journalist is gunned down in Mexico
Authorities in Mexico are investigating the circumstances surrounding the murder of Radio Formula host Humberto Millan. According to AFP, Millan and his brother were both driving in a vehicle that was stopped by armed men driving in pickup trucks. Millan was taken, while his brother was set free. A day later following a search, Millan's body was discovered shot multiple times in the face in the northwestern state of Sinaloa near Culiacan. Mexico is considered one of the most dangerous places for journalists to work in the world, due to drug-related violence. Mexico's National Human Rights Commission reports that the murder of Millan brings to 71 the number of journalists killed in Mexico since 2000. Millan was 53.
