A radio reporter is killed in Honduras
A radio reporter and show host who was known for her investigative reports into drug corruption was killed in a hail of gunfire in the capital city of Tegucigalpa. Luz Marina Paz and her driver were both shot and killed by men riding motorcycles passing her home. She was 38. Fox News Latino reports her car was hit by "dozens of bullets. It was also reported that Paz had recently refused a threat by an extortion gang to pay for protection. The murder of Paz and her drive happened one day after armed gunmen open fire on the building housing the La Tribuna newspaper in Tegucigalpa. Glass was shattered by the bullets, injuring one person. In the past four years, 23 Honduran journalists have been killed in the Central American nation, making it one of the most dangerous places for reporters to work in the Western Hemisphere.Previous and Next Stories
