After 36 years, R&R will close its doors on Friday
Radio-Info has confirmed that Nielsen Business Media is shutting the doors of industry trade publication R&R magazine. This Friday’s printed edition, dated June 5, will be the last issue. This means that its editorial, sales and support staff will be laid off — as many as 40 people in total. The chart department, which has been shared with Billboard, will continue to work under that brand with some of the Radio Airplay charts also being absorbed under Billboard. Nielsen bought the publication in July 2006. The R&R website says: “Electronic products end today, the Web site will be taken offline soon.” And in fact, that happened swiftly – around 5pm Eastern time. Discuss it here:
