All-comedy radio coming to Dallas, and soon Phoenix and Raleigh

24-7-Comedy Network 24/7 Comedy Radio principal George Gimarc is especially happy with the Dallas clearance, says the Dallas Observer: He is a Dallas radio veteran, with experience at the former KZEW and "Edge" KDGE. Dallas will have all-comedy for at least as long as the Volt Radio trust is holding expanded-band KKLF, Richardson, Texas (1700). The Dallas Observer has more news about 24/7 Comedy, which launched in the Spring of 2010 under the name Donkey Comedy Network. Gimarc says his original partner Bill Bungeroth has "more or less stepped aside." Last year, Bungeroth returned to Cumulus as a manager in San Francisco. The service has amassed more than 10,000 comedy clips, mostly featuring current funny folks such as Louis CK, Lisa Lampanelli and Doug Stanhope. 24/7 Comedy is on the air in Kansas City (HD multicast-fed translator "Funny 102.5"), Austin, Norfolk and Toronto. The Dallas Observer's Robert Wilonsky adds that "in coming weeks it will debut in Phoenix and Raleigh-Durham." The Dallas-Ft. Worth Board of Radio-Info.com is talking about the new funny station, here.
