An Aussie DJ is fired for Facebook rants
He's spent the last 12 years on 6NOW, 96fm in Perth. Steve Fitton now finds himself out of a job after he took to Facebook and slammed the station and the PD who took his shift away. Fitton, according to Perth Now, wrote on Facebook, "ey. Guess what. I am fine. i don’t need 96fm I have plenty of money…thanks brad hope it works out hey because get f**** but gavin said hey ... 11 years means nothing apparently…funny how those you helped and supported can turn on you…good luck and thanks for nothing." Fitton admitted he was "very drunk and angry" when he wrote the post, and says he and the station have mutually agreed he leaves two months before his contract expires. Fitton hosted the "Sunday Classic Cafe," a show that the station's PD Brad "The Ninja" McNally had just handed over to former station host Gavin Miller. You can listen to "Perth's Best Music" here.Previous and Next Stories
