An Everett, Washington AM may finally get its new towers on the air
The Skotdal family has been confronting community opposition to four new towers for KRKO (1380) for years, and now Andy Skotdal tells the Everett Herald "We will have them on the air toward the end of July." The neighbors cite the usual objections: potentially lower property values and health-related fears. But S-R Broadcasting finally got its construction permit from the FCC last week and that should settle the matter of the long-delayed construction. But the Skotdals have more legal bills ahead, because they're aiming to build a new AM facility at 1520 - and that will require two additional towers. Community activists have vowed to fight those.
