An Irish DJ exposes himself on an airplane, later cries on the air
Ireland's Cork 96FM morning show host Neil Prendeville was returning home from London where he was promoting a restaurant. The Telegraph newspaper reports things went wrong even before the plane was airborne. It is alleged that Prendeville attempted to engage in a sex act while the Aer Lingus plane was leaving the gate at Heathrow Airport in London, bound for Ireland. Prendeville is also alleged to have dropped his pants and exposed himself to two flight attendants. The next day on the air, Prendeville said "I'd like to take this opportunity to offer my deepest apologies to the passengers on the plane, to the flight personnel, to my family, to my employers, to my work colleagues and to all of the people of Cork, and I apologize unreservedly to all concerned. I'm hoping others and people listening and those writing the article and whatever is to come will learn from this terrible personal experience and not mix painkillers or any tablets with alcohol." Prendeville was one of 16 people sent by the Cork Convention Bureau to London to dine at Bentley's as a part of a tourism promotion. He had been taking pain killers for a neck problem, and claims he cannot remember the incident. You can listen to his on-air apology here.
