Another Cincinnati talk station emerges for the services of Eric Deters
Attorney and talk radio host Eric Deters was fired by Clear Channel's talk WLW-AM (700) in Cincinnati on Tuesday, following revelations of a video blog he posted on YouTube that included the comment, "If you want to conquer an African nation, send white women and pot." It appears now he may not be off the air for very long. Deters appeared Thursday on Cincinnati.com to explain the events that led to his firing and what he plans to do next. He will continue his law practice, and a rival Cincinnati talk station may be in the bidding for Deters. The Cincinnati Enquirer reports that Christian Broadcasting Systems-owned WQRT-AM "Real Talk" (1160) is considering hiring Deters for late afternoons for a daily two-hour show. WQRT station manager Jamey Schleue tells the Enquirer, "It could happen right away. But we have to get corporate to sign off on it." WQRT is also the home to former WLW-AM talk host Andy Furman, who does mornings. You can listen to Deters on Cincinnati.com here.
