Another radio reporter is kidnapped and murdered in Mexico
Police outside of the resort town of Mazatlan discovered the body of Radio La Magia (97.1) host and reporter Fabian Ramirez Lopez, who went missing two days ago on his way to work. The local press says Lopez was found stabbed to death, with his throat cut and letters carved into his body. Robbery was ruled out as a motive. The section of Mexico where Ramirez was killed is considered a hotbed of the drug cartels and one of the most dangerous parts of the nation. Just two weeks ago, the editor of the Internet radio station Radio Vision, Norberto Miranda Madrid, was shot to death by hooded gunmen who asked for him by name while working in his Nuevo Casas Grandes office. The death of Ramirez brings to ten the number of journalists killed in Mexico this year.
