Another Smooth Jazz station bites the dust – WJZZ, Atlanta
Latest speculation from the Radio-Info board – that Radio One will move the urban AC/talk “Grown Folks Radio” over from 102.5 (WAMJ, Mableton, GA). As for WJZZ (107.5) – it’s laid off the staff, including PD and afternoon driver Dave Kosh and morning man Greg Fitzgerald, midday lady Miranda Wilson and night host Maria Lopez. The station is currently still playing Smooth Jazz, but without any jocks. In the market’s first PPM results for December 2008, WJZZ had a 2.7 share. Radio One also owns Gospel WPZE and Urban WHTA.
