Apple’s new iCloud to offer both downloads and streams

Apple logo That feature, reported by TechCrunch writer MG Siegler, is a surprise. Siegler says “during the iCloud unveiling in June, Apple didn’t say a word about streaming", an omission that disappointed many observers. They did applaud the the “Match” feature, so users don't need to upload music they already own, as long as Apple has the track in its own library. But that was thought to be for downloading only. Now based on specs just given to third-party developers, iCloud will have the dual capability of downloading and streaming, to any compatible device. Now there is speculation about a “cloud iPhone”, with a cheaper iPhone 4 that would access music from the cloud, instead of relying on internal memory for storage. The Apple iCloud download/streaming service would cost just $25 a year.
