Atlanta's WGST-AM goes with local hosts in drive-time
The all-syndicated talk show lineup of Atlanta's WGST-AM (640) will turn decidedly local during morning and afternoon drive, as the Clear Channel-owned talk station will bring in Atlanta-based hosts. Former Modesto, California KMPH-AM (740) talk host Rob Johnson is heading in to host mornings, replacing the syndicated talker Michael Smerconish. While Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh will remain entrenched during the workday, WGST is bringing back syndicated talker Rusty Humphries, who will move from Oregon back to Atlanta and make WGST his afternoon talk home, but continue to syndicate his national show at night. Humphries is the one time former producer of the Steve & Vicki Show on Atlanta's WSTR-FM (94.1). Humphries, whose syndicated show aired on WGST from 9pm-12midnight, will have that time slot replaced by current afternoon host Dave Ramsey, reports the Atlanta Journal-Constitution's Rodney Ho.
