Atlanta's WSB-FM to split Steve & Vikki
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s Rodney Ho says not only will WSB-FM (98.5) break up the longtime Atlanta morning team of Steve & Vikki. Steve McCoy will be cut loose as his contract will not be renewed. The contracts for both McCoy and Vikki Locke come up on June 30, and the Cox-owned “B-98.5” did not want to add another year to the deal. McCoy and Locke came over to WSB-FM following a long run on crosstown rival WSTR-FM (94.1). They were cut loose from “Star 94” in 2007 when the station decided to go after a younger audience. It appears Locke has an offer to stay with WSB, but there are also rumors Kelly Stevens and Alpha Trivette could be brought back for morning drive. The Radio-Info Atlanta board has been digesting this very hot topic – Discuss it.
