August PPMs out for Atlanta, D.C., Boston, Detroit...
Atlanta’s urban “V103” WVEE is on an uptrend, advancing 9.5 to 10.0 to 10.3, for Monday-Sunday 6am-midnight age 6+ AQH share in Arbitron. Also showing growth – public radio’s news/classical WABE, up 3.4 to 4.0 to 4.5, now in the #6 place. In Washington, D.C., all-news WTOP-FM slips 9.2 to 8.5, but is more than a share ahead of #2 WHUR, Howard University’s urban AC at a 7.4. But the really eye-popping station-with-a-bullet is contemporary Christian non-com WGTS. It’s now tied for with Clear Channel’s “Hot 99.5” WIHT for fifth place, jumping 4.3 to 5.6. In Boston – CHR “Kiss 108” WXKS-FM racks up yet another gain, opening up a 2-½ share lead over #2 news/talk WBZ. Since June, Kiss 108 has risen 7.7 to 8.2 to 8.9. All the August PPMs released Wednesday and Thursday are online now at the Ratings Page of Radio-Info, here. Besides Atlanta, Washington and Boston, the other Thursday markets are Detroit, Miami, Seattle, Phoenix, Minneapolis and San Diego.
