AWRT re-names itself the "Alliance for Women in Media"
The name change, to “reflect the changes in the industry and the marketplace”, was approved by a strong majority vote of the membership and then voted on by the board this past weekend. “American Women in Radio and Television” was founded 59 years ago as a support group for those in broadcasting, and it welcomes men, as well. The “Alliance for Women in Media” plans a 12-month transition into its new name.
