Baseball teams in Washington, DC & Baltimore could be changing flagship stations
Baseball listeners along the I-95 corridor may have to change the dial to find their favorite teams in 2011. Radio-Info previously reported that the Baltimore Orioles may be considering a move from their current flagship radio station, CBS Radio-owned sports/talk WJZ-FM (105.7), to their former home, Hearst-owned news/talk WBAL-AM (1090). Meanwhile down I-95 in Washington, D.C., the Washington Nationals are also pondering a move. The team's agreement with Bonneville's WFED-AM (1500) ended this season, and no radio plans for the 2011 season have been finalized. The Nats Insider blog reports that while Bonneville and the Nationals have a good working relationship, a better fit for the team could be CBS Radio sports/talker WJFK-FM (106.7). Bonneville also owns #1-rated news outlet WTOP-FM (103.5), but it is unlikely they will preempt the news programming.
