Baton Rouge gets a new FM talk station – WBRP (107.3)
Guaranty Broadcasting has not lost "Country Legends" - they have just moved down the dial. Starting Monday morning, WBRP-FM (107.3) drops country and becomes "Talk 107.3." The lineup will include a simulcast of WAFB-TV News (5-5:30am), followed by the morning show with Bill Profita until 9am and popular local host Moon Griffon from 9am to 11am. Into the midday and afternoon, there's the syndicated Laura Ingraham from 11am-1pm and Dave Ramsey until 4pm. That's when Profita returns for afternoon drive from 4pm to 6pm. Into the evening, it's the syndicated Dennis Miller from 6pm-9pm, Jim Bohannon through 12am and Red Eye Radio with Doug McIntyre overnight. "Country Legends" can now be heard on KYPY-FM (104.9), which was formerly alternative KNXX. Guaranty Broadcasting Director of Programming/OM Dave Dunaway tells Radio-Info, "The people demanded talk on FM here," and added that "despite the changes, nobody lost their jobs." The staff of the alternative station is now handling country. The Louisiana Board of Radio-Info.com is talking about the double-switch of formats.Previous and Next Stories
