BBC Radio Scotland apologizes for a curse-laden on-air rant
This appears to be another situation of a news anchor not knowing whether his microphone is on or off. In this case it was on, and BBC Radio Scotland news anchor Grahame MacGregor was reacting to a taped report getting jammed. During the morning news report, the words "The Borders" repeated over and over as many as 38 times. MacGregor, who was frantically trying to get the report off the air, began cursing. Over the air, listeners heard MacGregor say "Oh Bull****," "S***, what the h*** is going on here," "technical f*****g faults," and "Well f*** it." The BBC says "'We apologize for any offense caused and we are looking into the matter to find out how the problem with the bulletin arose. There is an internal inquiry under way, but we do not discuss individuals." You can listen to the BBC Radio Scotland news report, with the obscene language beeped out here.
