Beasley joins the movement to require 5% pay cuts
Staffers got the word in late-afternoon meetings, and the across-the-board pay reductions will affect everyone up to and including founder George Beasley. Employees were told that it was either take the route of 5% pay cuts, or face further layoffs. Beasley has already laid off about 7% of its workforce. It operates stations in some markets which have been particularly damaged by the crash in housing prices and then the recession – Miami, Ft. Myers-Naples, and Las Vegas.
