“Big Shoe Stu” Evans Returns Home To KMLE Phoenix
Phoenix radio veteran “Big Shoe Stu” Evans will return to KMLE Country 108 as p.m. drive host, beginning Aug. 6. Big Shoe Stu originally joined KMLE in 1989, and remained on the air there for 19 years before being let go. He replaces Jeffrey T. Mason, who had been doing double duty handling afternoons at KMLE and the APD and midday host jobs at oldies sister KOOL-FM. Mason retains his KOOL duties. Evans’ radio career has also included on-air stints at WJEZ and WFYR in Chicago, and KIMN and KSYY in Denver. In his free time, he performs stand-up comedy and acts in local theater productions.
