Black Crow asks its bankruptcy court for more time
From this morning’s TRI Newsletter: The Southeastern radio group says the efforts of lender GE Capital have distracted it from putting together its re-organization plan, and that justifies a second extension of its “exclusive” period to file the plan with the court. It now asks that no other party be able to file a competing plan until November 8. In Federal bankruptcy court in Jacksonville, the owner of nearly two dozen stations says that its business has now “stabilized” and the court has recognized that GE Capital is “adequately protected [and] the case is complex.” Therefore, there’s no harm in giving the debtor (Black Crow) more time. Months ago, GE Capital tried to persuade a different court to appoint a receiver, but Black Crow squelched that attempt by filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in Florida.
