BlackBerry Music Ready for Launch
Research in Motion (RIM) has released its Blackberry Messenger music service. As reported in August by Connected, this $5 a month service allows the consumer to download up to 50 songs on their Blackberry and share those songs with others on their messenger service. RIM’s blog post explains that if a user has 10 friends on messenger “and they each have 50 songs in their music profiles. From those friends alone, plus the 50 songs you downloaded to start your profile, you could have 550 songs." RIM is rolling out this new package in the United States, Canada, and Australia in hopes to compete with Google’s anticipated move to allow users of their Google+ to share music with one another.
