Bonneville elevates Salt Lake City manager Jeff Simpson to President/CEO

Bonneville The LDS Church-owned Bonneville International just sold its stations in the East and Midwest to Hubbard Radio in a $505 million deal that closed on April 31, and previous group head Bruce Reese left to join Hubbard. Now Mark Willes at Bonneville parent Deseret Management Corporation, as expected, names KSL Broadcasting COO Jeff Simpson as the group head for the markets that are left. Those are Los Angeles, Phoenix and Seattle. Simpson will continue to supervise the Salt Lake City cluster that includes news/talk KSL-AM/FM (1160/102.7). Simpson joined Deseret Media in 2004, and the company says his selection "reflects Bonneville's strategic focus on building strong regional components around its digital and broadcast marketplaces." Its various websites, led by KSL.com, reach more than seven million unique users a month. Simpson has experience in digital media as well as broadcasting.
