Bonneville reorganizes, splits off KSL radio and TV into a new division
The other 28 Bonneville radio stations, including Salt Lake City stations such as soft AC “FM 100” KSFI, remain in Bonneville International, run by Bruce Reese. But Salt Lake’s KSL radio (1170 and 102.7) and KSL-TV now form a new “KSL Broadcast Division”, to be run by Bob Johnson as President/CEO. Johnson’s currently the executive VP of Bonneville International and already directly manages KSL radio/TV. There’s also an important new media dimension to the Bonneville reorganization by parent Deseret Management Corporation (DMC). The other new division it’s establishing will manage the websites and business operations of various related sites such as KSL.com, DeseretNews.com, DeseretBook.com, LDSChurchNews.com and MormonTimes.com. The new “Deseret Digital Media” will be headed up by Clark Gilbert, as president/CEO. He says “with nearly four million unique users and well over 200 million impressions per month, the existing Internet sites in the DMC family already comprise one of the top local-makret digital networks in the country.”
