Boston's "Sports Hub" under fire for promoting a "sex poll"
A sports talk host on Boston's WBZ-FM (98.5) may have gone too far when promoting an online poll. Mike Felger asked listeners to go to a website and rate TV news anchors Maria Stephanos, Sara Underwood and Bianca de la Garza, choosing between "wed," "bed" or "kill." The Boston Herald reports both Felger and the CBS Radio station are being taken to task by women's groups in the Bay State, including the Massachusetts chapter of the National Organization of Women. It says "The fundamental basis of this game is to determine the worth of the women based on their looks - and that’s troubling, It’s completely degrading." Felger, who does afternoon drive, tells the Herald the poll was not meant to be mean-spirited, saying, "We try not to take ourselves that seriously." Interestingly, one of the women in the poll, Fox-25 TV anchor Sara Underwood, is his wife.
