"Breast Summer Ever" contest causing controversy in Calgary
A Top-40 radio station in Calgary has started a contest where the winner will receive breast augmentation, which has some listeners happy but some others turning the dial. CKMP-FM (90.3) "Amp Radio" is asking listeners to submit a photo of themselves (though not a nude photo) along with reasons why they should win. Not everybody is happy with the parameters of the contest. The CBC quotes one listener who says she is no longer an "Amp Radio" listener, calling the contest "quite degrading." However, the "Amp Radio" PD is quoted as saying "response to the contest has been positive." A poll by the CBC on whether breast augmentation surgery is an appropriate prize found 62% of respondents had "No Objection," while 36% said it was "Inappropriate." You can check out the CKMP-FM "Breast Summer Ever" contest here.
