Bubba the Love Sponge says talent is taking big pay cuts at Sirius XM
In his case, he tells Radio-Info.com that the satcaster asked him to accept an 80% cut to stay on "Howard 101." Bubba the Love Sponge blames Sirius XM for paying big-bucks to what he calls "Hollywood people." Oprah Winfrey is at $18 million and Martha Stewart get $7 million annually. Bubba says tells the Hollywood Reporter "They paid an exorbitant amount for Hollywood people like Jamie Foxx with no (expletive) radio talent, so radio people like me have suffered. A lot of good radio people aren't getting an opportunity because of these Hollywood people ... You Hollywood (expletive) stay out of radio, and we'll stay out of Hollywood." Since leaving Sirius XM, Bubba has taken up residence at ioWorld Media's Radioio.com, where he says "It's far better than Sirius ever was." There will be two tracks - a free "Bubba 1" and the subscription "Bubba 2", offering two hours a day of uncensored content from 10:30am to 12:30pm, after he finishes his show on Cox Radio's "Bone" WHPT, Tampa. The syndicated "Bone" show is the basis of Bubba 1, with Bubba 2 designed to offer plenty of extras.
