Buckley sells its Syracuse cluster to James V. Johnson

No price announced yet for the three stations, including the classic hits “Good Time Rock & Roll” simulcast of WSEN-AM/FM. The FM is a Class B1 at 92.1 and the 1050 AM has 2,500 watts daytime and 190 watts at night. They’re both licensed to Baldwinsville, NY. The third station is “Oldies 1390” WFBL, broadcasting with 5-kw fulltime. Buyer James V. Johnson recently closed his $950,000 purchase of a combo in Oneida, NY – which is about 30 miles east of Syracuse. He’s filing to do the Buckley transaction as Leatherstocking Media Group, and he’ll take over the Syracuse trio on September 1. Broker Dick Foreman of Richard A. Foreman Associates initiated the transaction and repped seller Buckley Radio. The Syracuse-Utica Board here at Radio-Info was quick to pick up on the news and discuss it, here.
