Canada awards new licenses in Ontario
Bayshore Broadcasting plans a new soft AC station at 89.1 in Orillia, now that it’s won the competition for a commercial station in Ontario. NewCap, Frank Torres, Debra McLaughlin, Larche Communications, Nick Montague and Rock 95 Broadcasting Ltd. all submitted proposals, but weren’t chosen by the CRTC. Instant Information Services got the other FM license awarded in Orillia, for a low power traveler’s information format at 98.5. Instant Information Services also received the green light for a low power traveler’s information station in Bracebridge and Gravenhurst, at 101.9.
