CBS hires Jeff Kapugi as PD of "US99.5" Chicago and VP of Country
Kapugi is currently programming for CBS in St. Louis at AC "Fresh 102.5" KEZK and hot AC "Y98" KYKY, and he won't turn up in Chicago until December 5. There, he takes on the twin roles of succeeding Buddy Scott as PD of country "US 99.5" WUSN, and as the CBS Radio format captain of country. He takes the title of Vice President of Country Programming, which means that current format captain Jeff Garrison segues to a newly-created role as VP of Country Artist Relations. Garrison continues as operations manager for CBS in Phoenix and as the program director of country KMLE (107.9). CBS-Chicago market manager Rod Zimmerman says "WUSN holds an exceptional place in the world of country music, and we look forward to using Jeff's experience and creativity to produce added benefit to our listeners."
