CBS offers personalized streaming on Radio.com, using its Last.fm service

last.fm Just click "create a station", says CBS. Broadcasters and also Pandora's online competitors continue to look for ways to compete with it, and the latest answer from CBS Interactive is to offer the ability to create personalized stations on its aggregated "Radio.com." They can do that through the integration of CBS-owned Last.fm, with "one-click functionality", says CBS. That opens the door to nearly 12 million tracks from about 4.5 million artists. CBS says "the player will provide listeners, for the first time, an infinite number of free streaming experiences, across broadcast, online and personalized radio." After you click "create a station", you enter the name of an artist and hit the "play" button to hear a personalized radio station. Then, "related music will populate the station with the ability to love, ban and skip tracks as appropriate." It's possible to toggle to a different station or over to a CBS Radio terrestrial station that streams, such as L.A.'s modern rock KROQ or New York's classic hits WCBS-FM. CBS Interactive Music Group President David Goodman says "we're pleased to provide [listeners] with the best of both worlds."
