CBS Radio may be the big winner in the Family Radio sale sweepstakes

CBS Radio There have been rumors that CBS Radio was one of the companies that placed bids for Family Radio's WKDN-FM (106.9) in Philadelphia and WFSI-FM (107.9) in Annapolis, Maryland. Now the Christian Post says both stations "are being sold, tentatively to CBS." CBS has been rumored to want to take on WTOP-FM (103.5), the top-rated all-news radio station in Washington DC, which is also the highest-billing radio station in the nation. In June, CBS Radio appointed New York City WCBS-AM (880) VP/GM Steve Swenson as SVP/Market Manager for Washington, DC. Swenson has a 30-year background in news. He once ran "1010 WINS-AM" in New York, and he was the VP/GM of WTOP-AM in the mid-1990's. Harold Camping-founded Family Radio was looking to sell some of their radio stations to offset debt.
