CBS Radio Teams With Researcher For "Tomorrow's Hits" CHR Channel
CBS Radio and U.K.-based music research firm SoundOut Research have teamed for a new online radio channel, "Tomorrow's Hits Today," on Radio.com, CBS Radio's streaming audio portal and apps. The new channel is driven by the results of SoundOut's pre-release on-line music testing, and plays "just the U.S. 'hits of tomorrow,' together with a handful of off-the-scale independent tracks," according to SoundOut CEO David Courtier-Dutton."Tomorrow's Hits Today," which began its soft launch on Friday, is one of a suite of new Radio.com channels. The more than forty-five channels include mainstream formats as well as reggae, blues, reggaeton, a "New Country" channel specializing in "brand new Country songs," new age, smooth jazz, and a party songs channel called "Party Time." Radio.com presently offers similar suites of channels through AOL Radio and Yahoo! Music, but AOL Radio announced a planned move to Slacker Radio in June.
