CBS to split off Detroit's WXYT-AM (1270) and go talk

WXYT-AM Detroit Talk Radio The 1270 was CBS Radio's original all-sports outlet in the Motor City, starting in 2000, and it was the basis of the current highly-rated "Ticket" simulcast of 1270 and WXYT-FM (97.1). As of Monday, September 12, CBS will break off the 50,000 watt AM and install a separate talk lineup. The daily roster will begin with a local morning show (Charlie Langton), then Glenn Beck, Laura Ingraham, Todd Schnitt, Jason Lewis and Rusty Humphries. No apparent changes at "97.1 The Ticket" WYXT-FM. The Sports Board of Radio-Info.com is talking about the split, with one poster saying "this is the future", here.
