CC’s alt KYSR L.A. adds Premiere’s Nikki Sixx
Mötley Crüe bassist Nikki Sixx adds Clear Channel alternative KYSR (98-7FM) Los Angeles to his Premiere Networks-syndicated “Sixx Sense with Nikki Sixx.” The show launches weeknights 11 p.m.-4 a.m. on Monday, January 16. That brings his show's tally to 80+ affiliates, which debuted in February 2010. KYSR hosted a celebratory listener event at the Roxy in West Hollywood Thursday, January 12, featuring a Q&A with Sixx and performances by "American Idol" rocker James Durbin and band Nico Vega. Sixx's overnight shift is complemented by “The Side Show Countdown with Nikki Sixx,” which already airs on 98-7FM on weekends. Premiere launched that show in July 2010; currently it has 40 affils. And there’s more: Sixx has released a second bestselling book “This Is Gonna Hurt”; while Mötley Crüe is in the midst of a residency through February at the Las Vegas Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. Sixx noted of his newest affiliate, “In an age of fear-based business, I have a partner that has the balls to be original. Los Angeles is a hotbed of art, entertainment and new music. This is a perfect fit." "The Sixx Sense” is also available on Clear Channel Radio’s iheartradio and Sirius XM Channel 164.Previous and Next Stories
