Charlie Daniels To Host Westwood One July 4 Special
Grand Ole Opry member Charlie Daniels has been tapped to host the Westwood One radio show, “America’s Opry Weekend Star-Spangled Special” over Independence Day weekend. Throughout the special, Daniels plays some of the summers’ biggest country hits, plus live cuts from the Opry stage, and patriotic musical salutes. Among the songs and artists included in the special are Carrie Underwood’s “All American Girl,” Lady Antebellum’s “American Honey,” Josh Turner’s “Firecracker,” and the Charlie Daniels Band’s “In America.”
Daniels’ next CD release, the patriotic compilation “Land That I Love,” is due out Aug. 10 on Blue Hat Records/E1 Ent. It will include two new cuts being released for digital download on July 4, “Iraq Blues” and “What This World Needs is a Few More Rednecks.”
