Chicago's "Fresh 105.9" shakes up mornings and afternoons
CBS Radio-owned AC WCFS-FM "Fresh" (105.9) is moving afternoon drive host Scotty Smith into morning drive, and pairing him with Rebecca Ortiz, who was formerly across the hall on CBS sister-station Top 40 WBBM-FM (96.3). Replacing Smith in afternoons is Eric Austin who moves into the 3:00-8:00pm shift at "Fresh" after three years across town on Hot AC WTMX-FM (101.9). While Austin's name may not be fully familiar, his voice may be. He's spent nearly 15 years in the Windy City market, and was on the air as "Shark" in town on alternative WKQX-FM (101.1), the former WKIE/WKIF and WZZN-FM. In addition, Jeff Corder is coming to "Fresh" for weekend and swing shift duties. CBS Radio VP of Adult Contemporary Programming and WCFS-FM PD Jim Ryan says, “We're excited to have Rebecca, Eric and Jeff join the staff. I'm confident they will help us to continue to grow our audience.”
