Chicago's "Lite FM" bounces longtime morning host Melissa Forman
Will WLIT-FM now voicetrack the shift? That’s one early speculation. The Chicago Sun-Times observes that Forman has been on a “ratings roller-coaster” at WLIT-FM (93.9), after sinking as low as a 1.5 persons 6+ AQH share in the June People Meter book. That put the morning drive shift in 26th place, while in July it picked up some altitude to a 2.2, still in 20th place. Forman’s contract was due to expire October 1. The early rumor from Radio-Info’s Los Angeles Board is that mornings at Lite FM may be voicetracked out of L.A. – perhaps by major-market veteran Valentine. The Sun-Times says Clear Channel market manager Earl Jones should announce a replacement for Melissa Forman “early next week.” She had done wakeups before Clear Channel added the syndicated Whoopi Goldberg show in August 2006, then returned to the shift in Fall 2007. The Los Angeles Board is here.
