Chicago's new revenue champ – CBS Radio's all-news WBBM (780)
Tribune's WGN had held the crown for the years 2004, 2005 and 2006, but the latest Miller Kaplan numbers (reported by the Sun-Times) show an upset. WBBM grew its billing from $45.9 million in '06 to $47.5 million, while WGN slipped from $47.5 million to $43.6 million. #3 was Bonneville's AC "Mix" WTMX, at $35,282,000. #4 was CC's urban WGCI, $29,634,000. And #5 was CBS Radio's country "US 99.5" WUSN, at $27,106,000. The newspaper's Robert Feder says the market overall finished down 4%, to finish at an even $500 million for the year.
