Chicago's Steve Dahl & CBS Radio's "Jack" WJMK part ways
The Radio-Info.com boards started buzzing about the legendary DJ’s departure last night, and this morning it was confirmed. Dahl, along with sidekick Buzz Kilman, did their last show this morning, when Dahl made the announcement to listeners. Dahl has been heard in the Chicago market for decades on stations like WLUP and WLS, and he was moved to “Jack” late last year when CBS flipped talk WCKG to AC as “Fresh” WCFS. Dahl and Jack were an unusual pairing, considering Dahl’s talk personality background and Jack’s typically DJ-free presentation. With the implementation of Arbitron’s PPM, Dahl’s ratings had dropped, prompting the station to cut his shift by one hour and end it at 9 AM, back in August. Discuss It
