Christian Pirate Radio is back online, from Salem-San Diego
General manager Dave Armstrong of Christian teaching KPRZ (1210) says that in 1998, Salem first launched an Internet-only Christian music station named Christian Pirate Radio. But in 2003, he says "we turned it off because of the royalty uncertainty." Armstrong says "When we talked to people in 1998 about advertising on an Internet station, they looked at you like you were from Mars. Today, Internet is an integral part of most advertising plans, and the concept of an Internet station is no longer foreign." There's more: "With the addition of video options and the quality of sound, we believe that Christian Pirate Radio will be a home run." Armstrong says "The pirates were shipwrecked off the coast of San Diego and are broadcasting from La Jolla" - broadcasting Christian-themed pop music, that is. Check out this unique Pirate Radio here.
