Clear Channel names Bob Pittman CEO of CC Media Holdings
10 months after Pittman joined the company in the newly-created role of "Chairman of Media and Entertainment Platforms" (and also an investor), he becomes more closely involved. Parent CC Media Holdings announced today (Sunday, 10/2) that Pittman will join its Board of Directors and take the title of CEO of CC Media Holdings. He also joins the board of publicly-traded Clear Channel Outdoor Holdings and will serve as its Executive Chairman. Both appointments are effective immediately. Pittman will retain his role at his New York-based private investment firm named Pilot Group. CC Media Holdings Chairman Mark Mays says "on behalf of the board of directors, I want to express how delighted I am that Bob has accepted this position." Pittman himself says "I've had the unique opportunity to look at the Clear Channel people and assets up close, and have found myself increasingly drawn to this company, to the point where the chance to get even more deeply involved has just become irresistible." - Read the Sunday afternoon press release about Bob Pittman here.
