Clear Channel spins researcher and smooth jazz specialist to its president; United Stations to rep
Allen Kepler will take 100% ownership of the Sherman Oaks, CA-based firm starting January 1. That widens BA’s opportunities to offer research services such as its Mix-Master interactive music testing service and its callout and perceptual products. The other side of Broadcast Architecture is its close involvement with the smooth jazz format, both as consultant and content provider. The Smooth Jazz Network offers stations programming by dayparts, including Dave Koz (afternoons), Kenny G – and Kepler himself, on weekends. BA quickly announces its new affiliate marketing and advertising sales relationship with United Stations Radio Network. That gives USRN inventory to sell from BA programs such as “The Smooth Jazz Top 20 Countdown” and “Smooth Jazz Weekend.” United Stations won’t be repping BA to research clients, however.
