Clear Channel's iHeartRadio offers a new "commercial-free" subscription version
The mobile app gives subscribers to the online service a way to pick up Sean Hannity, Dr. Laura, Jim Rome, Bob & Tom and many other Premiere-syndicated personalities with no commercials. Premiere’s EVP of Digital Media Brian Lakamp says “fans have embraced our subscription model for anytime access to our top personalities.” Now Clear Channel/Premiere is extending that access to the smart phone platform, using version 2.3 of the iHeartRadio mobile app for iPhone/iPod touch and BlackBerry devices. The Android-compatible app is due soon. Clear Channel says its proprietary iHeartRadio app has just passed seven million downloads and usage is rising.
